The Dialog 3 has one of the most ingenious designs ever created for a quality writing instrument, with a superbly engineered twist mechanism which simultaneously extends the 14k solid gold nib and retracts the clip. When finished writing, another twist retracts the nib behind a protective shield which protects from ink dry-out, while the clip extends once more.
This ease of use is further supported by Lamy's convenient cartridge-converter filling system, which allows for the use of either bottled fountain pen ink or Lamy brand disposable ink cartridges.
