The 14K nib has several advantages. It is generally a stiffer alloy, less likely to be damaged and it offers the possibility of greater flexibility than its fancier 18K cousin.. It has been the standard throughout most of the history of fountain pens.

This pen comes with a solid 14K gold nib plated with rhodium, and is available in EF, F, OF, OFR, M, OM, OMR, B, OB,OBR, BB, Stub and Italic. We can add some flexibility to this already somewhat soft 14K nib ($65 extra).
