Owners Club Pens Mahogany
|
| This
pen is made from twelve pieces of hard rubber, which are fitted together around
nine rings. (Notice that the different segments do not line up, a sure sign that
each was assembled separately.) Each piece is polished before gluing and assembly,
giving the effect of a soft rippling texture in the hand. Segments of bamboo have
a similar concavity between the nodes. The subtle concave shape is achieved by
polishing each segment on a mandrel. |

| The rollerball clip, popular
on many OMAS pens dating back to the early 1930's, was originally designed and
manufactured by the Boston Safety Pen Company (BSPC). In 1917 Wahl Pen Company
purchased BSPC and the rights to the rollerball clip patent. Wahl-Eversharp made
extensive use of this clip throughout the 20's and 30's. We believe that the rollerball
clip keeps coming back because of its splendid utility. While it holds the pen
firmly in the pocket, it slides easily on and off. |

|
| In the tradition of fountain pens from
the the late 19th and early 20th century, this pen is made of dark wood grained
hard rubber. It has rhodium bands and clip, and a cartridge/converter filling
system. It is 5.19 inches long capped and weighs 26.6 grams, a moderate weight.. |

Each of the 18K two-tone top grade German made, Bock
nibs is hand set by Howard Levy. And of course, we test write each pen with ink
on paper and adjust them to the specifications that you prescribe. We
can offer this pen with a variety of point sizes: Fine, Medium, Broad and Stub,
(seen to the left). The Stub is particularly well suited to our cursive italic
customization with writing widths anywhere up to 1.3 mm.(This is wider than the
equivalent of a Pelikan double broad point.)

| Very few pens made today
reveal the quality of hand work and material seen in this pen. The individual
edition number is engraved on the gripping section. We have some matching numbers
with the Amber model. |
| |
| Although difficult to see
from a distance, when we get close up on this hard rubber material the richness
is quite apparent. The pen is provided with a lovely warm brown leatherette presentation
case lined with tan suede. |
Our
Price: $395.00 Note that we have a few of these in matched
number sets.
If you take both we will offer them at $380.00 or $760 for
the pair.
(This small edition is mostly sold out.)
