Bexley Simplicity Cracked Ice
The Bexley Simplicity fountain pen reminds us of those 1920's, flat-topped, banded (once around the barrel and once around the cap lip) models. The shape is much like early Parker and Sheaffer's pens. It is constructed with a blind cap that holds the clip in place and another at the barrel end. And, of course the roller ball pocket clip is much like the one used by Wahl-Eversharp in this same period.
The "cracked ice" color first appeared in the Conway Stewart celluloid fountain pen of the 1930's. The scarcity and fragility of that color led to an appitite for it amoung pen collectors. Here we can have our cake and eat it too. This pen is not scarce (at least not yet) nor is it fragile. This material, made of acrylic rod stock, specially designed for this pen color, captures the feel of the twenties without the problems of disintegrating celluloid. (From what we know now, acrylic is much more stable than the plastic pen material of the early days.)
At 5 1/4" long capped and weighing 20 grams, this is a full-length lightweight fountain pen that will not tire the hand. The converter holds 1.2 ml of ink, a generous amount as converters go.

Each of the 18K two-tone top grade German made, Bock nibs is hand set by Howard Levy. And of course, we test write each pen with ink on paper and adjust them to the specifications that you prescribe.

We can offer this pen with a variety of point sizes: Fine, Medium, Broad and Stub. The Stub nib (seen to the left) is particularly well suited to our cursive italic customization with widths anywhere up to 1.2 mm. (This is wider than the equivalent of a Pelikan double broad point.)

Because one can partly see through the darker areas of the barrel, one can keep track of the ink supply and know when to refill (either using the converter from and ink bottle or by popping in a new international cartridge.)
Bexley has reinterpreted designs ideas from the golden age of fountain pens. The name Simplicity is appropriate for this no-nonsense classic.
