| Calligraphy clients are used to calligraphy pens
with tips that are typically quite wide. Fountain pen points are thinner in general,
with the biggest line stock being about 1.3 mm; anything beyond this must be retipped,
which can get pricey. Another consideration is the capacity of the feed to handle
the ink flow demands of a very wide tip. Generally, vintage pens are better at
a generous ink flow than contemporary pens. The worst flow is found in pens with
small connectors from converters and cartridges, such as the international style
of cartridge. |
