Nakaya Ganesh Special Edition Fountain Pen
Nakaya offers a number of special edition fountain pens. The Ganesh is one that is most appreciated by lovers of Indian art.
Ganesh is one of the best-known and most-worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India. Hindu sects worship him regardless of other affiliations. Devotion to Ganesh is widely diffused and extends to Jains, Buddhists, and beyond India.
Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesh's elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesh is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles , patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom. He is honored at the start of rituals and ceremonies and invoked as Patron of Letters during writing sessions, making this iconography appropriate for this Maki-e fountain pen.
The mouse seen to the right at Ganesh's foot represents trouble that has been overcome.

This pen exploits a range of Maki-e techniques including the gold flake application and Raden (abalone) inlay.

The pen shown above is the "long size" "cigar" (without clip). Nakaya Pen Co. prefers to offer this pen in the long size, as it offers more room for this motif.

Each Maki-e edition Nakaya pens arrives in a carefully crafted deep soft wood box.

This pen is available in the full range of Nakaya nibs.
