Piccolo Housoge | ||
The
Piccolo is the shortest of the Nakaya urushi pens. The name Piccolo comes
from the smallest of the woodwind instruments. Shown here is the Piccolo Housoge Cigar (No Clip) in Kikyo with a platinum inlay. | ||

Its base color is "Kikyo" and line is Platinum. An artist engraves a motif by Wajima unique "Chinkin" technique on "Kikyo"(blue) lacquer surface. After that, an artist imbeds platinum to the lines. | ||

It is just big enough to fit easily
in a large hand without posting the cap. (The cap does fit on the back of the
barrel, though we do not recommend posting.) | ||
This simple elegant shape with its turned tapered pyramidal cap and smooth transition between the cap and barrel, is an exercise in spare design. This pen is also available with a pocket clip and is known as the "Writer". "Housoge" is a flower in the imagination of saying as in blossom in the paradise. |

The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakaya, the family name of the manufacturer is made of solid 14K gold. Each of these nibs is suitable for our customization to extra flexible. The medium and broad tip can be customized by us into cursive italic, stub or oblique points. See below for the basic tip sizes of the Nakaya nibs as reported off of their web site. | |
