The Namiki Bamboo is the thickest
pen we offer with a barrel diameter of 5/8". It is particularly good for
those who like a handful being almost 6" long, capped. With a rhodium plated
solid gold nib* and a white metal finish clip and the section screw, this pen
is an understatement in black and white. The fit and finish is of the highest
quality and the nib is extremely precise. (In fact I have never seen better quality
control than that on these nibs.) The cap, barrel and section of this version
are Black Resin.

(Ed:
this testimonial arrived as two separate handwritten notes:) "Dear John,
Pat and Josh, The Namiki arrived yesterday, as you can see and it performs beautifully
and smoothly! It was definitely worth waiting for..... It gives me joy and comfort
to know that there still is (an) outfit like yours around in a day and age that
otherwise encourages use-and-throw-away items like never before. Thank you, Kim"(2/27/04)
Namiki Bamboo Rhodium
The
subtle contrast of the brushed finish body and the slightly shinier clip makes
this pen a sleek study in reflections. (Note how the section of the pen above
is reflected in the cap next to it.)
Notice how the nib has the same luster*
as the body of the pen. The feed and the filling are the best cartridge-converter
system on the market. (The converter has a large enough connection with the section
to avoid the problems common among many major brands.)
*Because
the gold nib is plated, we cannot retip this nib without some plating loss.
(Ed:
this testimonial arrived as a hand-written letter on 8/22/05) "Dear
Pat and John, My Namiki Bamboo in Rhodium arrived today and all I can say is WOW!
This pen is not only the most distinctive in my collection, but also the most
beautiful. Thank you for yet another pen that's perfect for me. I really didn't
know what to expect. The larger than normal box suggests the contents are larger
than life, and they are. When I first opened the box I just stared at the pen
for at least 30 seconds. It's distinctive shape and perfect finish make it quite
a site to behold. When I finally got up the nerve to pick it up I was not disappointed.
I very much enjoy heavy pens and this one definitely has some heft. The fit and
finish are absolutely flawless and John's cursive italic broad nib is the perfect
compliment to a perfect pen. I actually find it quite comfortable to hold
the pen right at the threading for the cap. It is long enough to still comfortably
rest on the webbing between my thumb and index finger, unposted of course. Pat,
you were absolutely right about purchasing a broad versus medium nib. The broad
is exactly what I was looking for. I can't believe how well this pen fits my hand,
my writing style and my personality. Thank you both so much. Very truly yours,
Tim Valley"
This is an extremely high precision pen and a great quality value.
