If you are interested in one of these pens, pleased let us know as we occasionally can find one and keep a list.
This is the OMAS Saft Green celluloid fountain pen with
gold fill trim. The color is reminiscent of the Wahl Eversharp
Doric, "Kashmir Green from Persia," 1931. The light
pearl green color contrasts with the dark veins against the deep
green and depending on the angle that you hold the pen, the colors
shift in intensity. Although not as bronzy as the Moss Agate plastic
that Waterman's initiated in the late 20s, this material shows
larger patterns of pearl reflectiveness. We believe the pearlescence is achieved
by flaking mother of pearl and adding it to the celluloid mix in its liquid
state, as it was done originally.

"The Omas
Celluloid Saft Green fountain pen arrived this afternoon in perfect
condition. What a gem it is! One could easily regard this writing
instrument as a piece of very fine jewelry, the colors are so
rich and blend beautifully and the structure is superb. I am awaiting
a supply of Omas ink from Ink Palette so as yet I have not filled
the pen but I have briefly dipped the nib to test it out and it's
performance can be described as unequalled..... Of course you
may use my correspondence for your web site; I would be honored
and thank you for considering me.... David" (Wright, 4/16/03) |
