Pelikan Karajishi Limited Edition Fountain Pen

This year’s Pelikan limited edition pen employs the Japanese artist Togidashi.  It is made in an extremely small number of 88 pieces worldwide. As will past Maki-e pens, they will be gone quickly.  (We were only able to get four.)

The pen is made in Germany with the predictable functional quality of German engineering.  The fine artwork was done in Japan. This pen embodies the highest forms of Taka-maki-e finished with a great Raden inlay.

“Karajishi” is an imaginary lion introduced from China in the Tang Dynasty into Japan. Lions have been considered a precious luck-bringing animal that promotes joy. The hand lacquered green and red lions are burnished and raised to produce a tactile elegance. The six colored, inlaid balls are believed to realise your dreams and bring joy and good fortune to you.

The barrel is dusted with fine gold and set with inlaid mother of pearl within the center of the colored balls.

The artists signature is brushed in lacquer along with the limited edition number.

This limited edition of 88 piston-filler fountain pens worldwide is fitted with an 18k gold nib and is presented in a beautiful traditional paulownia wood box.

We can provide this pen with the full range of M800 nibs from EF to BBB including the Oblique options.  Please call if you are also interested in nib customizations or multiple nibs for this pen.
