| Dear John, I'm not sure if I've written already to tell you how delighted I've been with the pen I bought (ed: a vintage Sheaffer's). I know you probably hear that all the time, but I'm amazed that from my description over the phone, and without watching me write you could come so close to what I wanted (ed: f/m cursive italic modification). I'm still trying to get better at the angles I hold the pen to get the maximum thin and thick line, but I can write infinitely faster than with a regular italic, and if I slow down, the letters are pretty even if not as sharply italic as my calligraphy books would like....But then, I'm still learning (it's been 60 years, but OK, I'm slow...).
