Sailor 1911 Sterling Silver

At 5 3/4" long, capped, this pen is the largest of the standard-sized Sailors. With the cool and elegant luster of sterling silver, the body of this pen slides easily into one's fingers. It, along with the rest of the Sailor 1911 series, takes the larger of the two sizes of Sailor nibs. The pen fills from the excellent Sailor converter or takes standard Sailor cartridges.

The contrast of yellow gold trim with the silver cap and barrel is truly striking. However, as is the case with all smooth sterling silver finishes, minor scuffing shows. Although minor scuffing can be seen on the pen when looked at very closely, it is below the resolution of these images.

This pen is available with a large range of finer points, including EF, F, F/M (no longer available), M, B, Music and Zoom. The Zoom tip pictured on the nib above, is one of Sailor's unique points. Click here for pictures and a description of this nib on our Sailor Nibs Page.

"Hi Pat,
I got the silver Sailor 1911, and it is wonderful! Weight, size, finish, and writing qualities, all exactly what I was hoping for. The nib is interesting, enough that I am having a good time getting used to it. Quite different writing than with a resin bodied pen, but this is what I was looking for
this time.... Take care, and best wishes
Aaron" (11/06/06)

"Pat and John:
I received my new Sailor 1911 with the zoom nib yesterday in good order. The sterling model is a much more substantial pen than the regular model, and the additional length gives it a classic look. The zoom nib is unlike anything else that I have ever used. It writes smoothly on all papers that I have tried, and the ability to vary line thickness is a gas! Another winner. My thanks to both of you once again. Nick" (3/25/05)
