Sailor Buddhist Script Limited Edition
The Sailor Buddhist Script fountain pen is extremely limited in number. At 100 pieces world wide this sterling silver pen will not be seen in many collections. Similar in size to the 1911 Sterling, it is 5 9/16" long, capped, and a weight, without ink, of 50 grams.

The "Hannyashinkyo" Sutra Fountain Pen is engraved on the body and cap of this sterling silver pen. These characters condense the sutra that was translated from the Tibetan Sanskrit text around the first century AD into 266 characters. This sutra, or teaching, is one of the main doctrines of Buddhism. Sutras are chanted by Buddhist monks and lay people in unison as a guide to understanding life and life forces. This one is known in the West as the Heart Sutra. (For a translation of the Heart Sutra, please go to http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/heartstr.htm).
Each pen is numbered. We currently have number 79.

The band is engraved with the five "Tathgata of Wisdom", the four cardinal directions and the center.

The nib is engraved with the character for "center", the key to balancing the opposing forces of the four directions.

Available in Medium and Broad Togi nibs.

The Buddhist Script LE comes in a modest softwood box, with a velvet liner and a description of the sutra and explanation of the five "Tathgata of Wisdom", the Admantine Realm.
