Though simple in appearance, the red Urushi surface requires great skill to
execute. These pens are flawlessly made by artist Kato Seishou in the time honored
tradition of Urushi resin application. The artist is well known in Japan as a
master of Maki-e, having worked on the restoration of Takamijura, the emperor's
throne and Michoudai, a curtained platform used by nobles in the Heian period.
The red color is both rich and deep, a prefect balance between brightness
and gravitas.
The pen is available in Medium and Broad nibs.
A range of custom nibs are also available. For more information on Sailor nibs,

The King of Pen comes in a simple dark wood presentation box with
a bottle of Sailor black Gentle ink. The pen accepts either a standard Sailor
converter or Sailor's cartridges
