Sailor Meteor
Green and Red Meteor

Shooting across a sky of green or a sky of red, the "meteor" is a silver pearl. It is trailed by two lines of abalone (raden) cutting diagonally through the body of the pen on opposite sides. This unusual pen has a uniform but randomly textured central section, which gives the barrel a pleasing feel. Close inspection of this material reveals a more complex color than simply green. Below the surface, small amounts of red and yellow glint through. What appears on first glance to be a simple pen turns out to be considerably more subtle and complex.

Gold trim contrasts with the matte surface resin of he cap, section and barrel ends.

At 6 3/16" long, capped, this is pen is longer than a Pelikan M1000 (5 3/4"). This length gives the pen a comfortable feel in the hand even without the cap posted. At 28 grams this pen feels light for its size.

Each piece is signed by the artist, Seisyo Shitsugei, and is accompanied by a certificate from the artist.
The raden is precisely inlaid into the matte texture of the body.
The 21K nib is the same extremely high quality writing point that is found on the 1911 series. For this reason it is available in extra-fine, fine, fine-medium, medium and broad. The pen is also available with the various specialty nibs offered by Sailor. It comes standard with the Naginata NM, (Naginata Medium) nib.
Red Meteor-No longer availble from Japan

I like to imagine the Red Meteor as a shooting star in a Martian sky. Just as the color of the green Meteor is not solid green, the red is filled with other subtle hues.

A warm matte pastel shows up in the brick red crevices.
Again, there are two meteors spiraling around the central of the barrel.

The solidity of the red color contrasts with the reflective abalone and the silver meteor dot.

The Red or Green Meteor retail for $1125.00 with the Togi nib.
