Sapporo and Sapporo Mini
Fountain Pens
|
The Sapporo is one of Sailor's most popular and
affordable models, offering stylish and attractive fountain
pens that function as terrific everyday writers. From the sleek
simplicity of the gold and rhodium-trimmed black pens, to
the variety of solid, pastel, semi-transparent, and lamé
Colors seen below, the Sapporo series has a pen to fit your
taste and sensibility.
Sporting the famous Sailor anchor logo in metal on the top
of the cap and showing bands around the end of the barrel as
well as both ends of the cap, the regular size Sailor Sapporo
is a modern classic. The simple sophistication of the clip and
the well proportioned shape of the overall pen add to its functionality
and sophistication. Measuring just over 5 1/2" with the
cap posted, this is a mid-size fountain pen with an almost full-size
feel. For the small size Sapporo, the Mini, see the bottom of this page. |

| For those looking for a truly compact fountain
pen, the Sapporo Mini is the solution. Measuring just
over 4" with the cap closed, but reaching more than
5 1/4" with the cap posted, this pen is both small
enough to fit in most any pocket, while still large enough
to serve as a fully functional fountain pen. Utilizing
the same high-quality 14k nibs as the regular Sapporo,
this cartridge-loading homage to the great "Tuck-Away"
pens of the 1940's is a contemporary classic. |

| Sapporo, Japan's fifth largest city, is
the name chosen by Sailor for this expanding series of pens.
Prior to the city's establishment, the area, known as the Ishikari
Plain, was home to a number of indigenous Ainu settlements.
In 1866, at the end of the Edo Period, construction began on
a canal through the area, encouraging a number of early settlers
to establish Sapporo village. The name, taken from the Ainu
language, translates as "large river running through a
plain." Sapporo is the most recently-founded of Japan's
major cities, and a fitting namesake for this growing line of
pens. |
| "Just
to let you know...
I got the pen and it has already become my favorite and
taken it's place in my everyday carry.
Thanks for everything...

"Hi Pat. I own many Sailors and agree that they have excellent
nibs. The sapporro I received writes incredible. Another example of the entire
nib being a sweet spot. Send my thanks to John for another home run! Steve Fenton"
