Sapporo Colors Fountain Pens
are available in an astonishing range |
In a broad range of colors and at a terrific price, the Sapporo fountain pen has a nib that competes with the best in the world. |
|
Sailor offers a midsize pen in a variety of colors. These
nibs are unsurpassed.
As seen above, the black and persimmon are trimmed in gold
plate and sport a solid 14K gold nib. The rhodium plated solid
14K gold nibs go with the clear, purple and black pens. They
are trimmed with rhodium as well. With their flat ends these
pen are shorter than the discontinued 1911 International series
pens. They do however feel as large in the hand because the barrel and
cap width are the same size as the 1911.

 |
| Note the opalescence in the purple body color.
Unlike the rest of the series, the band on the transparent
pen covers the lip. |
Occasionally I have
a pocket that is just too short for my longer fountain pens.
The Sapporo fits just fine.
In July of 2009 three colors were added
to the Sapporo demonstrator line: Orange, Green, and Pink. These
bright candy color pens are just right to satisfy your writing sweet
tooth. |

 |
| In August 2009 Sailor added a metallic blue with rhodium trim and a white with gold trim to the Sapporo line. |
 |
| In October of 2009 Sailor added pastel colors to the Sapporo collection. They are light and bright colors: Pink with rhodium trim, ivory with god trim, bright blue with rhodium trim, and orange with gold trim. |
| The basic black pen has quite another feel. It speaks with quiet authority and formality. |
|
The Sapporo section diameter
is 9.48 mm, barrel diameter is 12.03 mm. Capped the pen is 4.87
inches long, the barrel is 3.56 inches from section to the back
end and with the cap posted the pen comes to 5.60 inches long.
Weight: 19.7 grams (with empty converter). |
Sailor follows in a long tradition of identifying their
pen by a mark or symbol visible in the top of your pocket.
The anchor logo, embedded in the cap top is gold plated
brass. Because these pens come in a variety of colors,
it is possible to know which one has the ink color of
your choice. |
