The Hakkuku is Danitrio's octagonal fountain pen. With a closed length of 5 13/16 inches and a weight of 26.5 grams, this is a full but not over-sized pen that will be a comfortable fit for most users. The eight-faceted shape displays both solid colors and complex motifs to great effect, and offers a particularly strong showcase for the Tame-nuri colors.
All Danitrio pens are available from us as special order items - pens already in stock with Danitrio will generally ship in one week or less.
Simple and understated, Kuro-Keshi technique involves polishing the ebonite body and coating it with a light layer of black Urushi lacquer to prevent fading. The Danitrio Hakkaku Kuro-Keshi retails for $1000 - SOLD OUT.
In Tame-Nuri technique, semi-transparent amber-colored urushi is painted over a base color. As the natural urushi matures, the outer layer becomes more transparent and the underlying color shows through more brightly.
Danitrio Hakkaku with clip pens are also availble in Kuro-dame (black), Midori-dame (green), Murasaki-dame (Purple), and dark red Shu-dame.
