Danitrio Takumi Shu-dame
The Danitrio Takumi in Shu-dame finish is both a warmly beautiful pen as well as a terrific everyday writer. Just slightly smaller than the similar Densho, and using a convenient cartridge-converter filling system, the Takumi is a more than full-sized pen - with a closed length of 5 13/16” and a barrel diameter of 5/8”, the Takumi is also one of the more affordable introductions to the Danitrio brand.
The design on the face of the Danitrio nib started with the image of Kohai (光背), a halo often painted on the back of Buddhist statues. This was the idea of one of Danitrio's maki-e artists, Mr. Kenji Yamamoto. In Japanese Buddhism, fierce gods are often seen with a "flaming wheel" on their back, and the design is an off-shoot from this.
Takumi collection pens are furnished with the 18k Danitrio #6 nib solid gold nib, manufacted specially for Danitrio by Bock of Germany.
