Eboya sustainably harvests ebonite from the Asian rubber gum tree. Caps and barrels are then hand-turned and polished. No outer layer of lacquer is used - these are raw ebonite pens, highly prized by users and collectors. While care should be taken to avoid overly long exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight, Eboya considers the slight changes in color that may develop in time to be part of the natural seasoning process for this pen. "Wabi-Sabi" is the term used in Japanese culture to express the notion that objects gain in value with time and usage.
