Platinum 3776 Century Briar Shell Sandblasted
With its highly textured finish, the Platinum 3776 Briar Shell Sandblasted fountain pen evokes images of dark volcanic rock. Gold trim adds a touch of refined elegance to this naturally warm writing instrument.
In order to create this unique aesthetic, Platinum applies sandblasting to the briarwood. This removes the soft part of the wood, leaving the hard part of the grain to show through. After the surface is wiped with lacquer, the shine decreases but the durability becomes fortified, and the end result is a deep brown "shell" of a finish that provides visual and tactile delight. The smooth black section is perfectly tapered and provides a comfortable grip for most users.
