Nakaya Decapod Writer Kuro-tamenuri TW

This, the darkest of the tamenuri colors, gives the Decapod TW a well deserved gravitas. The topology of this shape is beautiful to see and especially to hold.

The Decapod has already been perhaps the most distinctive pen style developed by Nakaya, and now this new pen literally gives the model an added twist. Shown here is the Decapod Writer (with clip) TW in black-red Kuro-tamenuri. The Writer model is shown here with a gold clip, but is also available with a pink gold, rhodium, or ruthenium clip. Matching plated nibs are available as well.

This pen is a pleasure to hold. Each pen is handcrafted in meticulously exact fashion. Nakaya’s multi-thread barrel allows this pen to be quickly capped and uncapped, but not every thread will properly align the facets in the closed position - it may take more than one try to find a thread that will properly set the alignment.

The Decapod TW in Kuro-tamenuri can be furnished with any of the standard range of Nakaya 14k nibs. These smooth-writing nibs are also well-suited to customizations including Stub, Cursive Italic, or Left Oblique, as well as the modification for added flex. Plated and two-tone nibs are also available at additional cost, as are rhodium, ruthenium, and rose gold plated clips.

The Nakaya Decapod Writer TW can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter. Nakaya pens can also use Platinum brand top quality ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e converters are also available.

Decorative rice paper, a simple solid softwood shipping box decorated with Japanese Kanji script, and a fabric pen "kimono" are all included with this pen, making it a lovely presentation item. Sensible and elegant packaging has long been a hallmark of the Nakaya brand.
Unless requested otherwise, each pen or nib you purchase from us will be carefully examined, tested, and optimized for your personal writing characteristics before it ships.
