Nakaya 17mm Portable Cigar Heki-tamenuri
The Nakaya 17mm Portable Cigar in Heki-tamenuri finish is the perfect pen for Nakaya fans who prefer writing instruments with a slightly larger cap and barrel width. Each hand-finished pen is also hand-turned from natural ebonite hard rubber and requires a minimum of four to six months to be produced.
Our complimentary nib tuning assures that your Nakaya pen will have writing qualities equal to its feel and appearance, and our optional nib customizations can add additional character and distinctiveness to your writing on the page. We are an authorized Nakaya retailer.
Heki-tamenuri finish is applied to this pen in a traditional and time-intensive process by skilled urushi artists in Wajima on the west coast of Japan. The cap and barrel are hand-turned at the Nakaya workshop in Tokyo, and final nib assembly and testing is done in the Classic Fountain Pen offices in Los Angeles.
This is a cartridge-converter pen which can fill using Platinum brand ink cartridges or any bottled fountain pen ink when using the provided converter.
Each Nakaya pen ships in a softwood presentation box decorated with kanji-style script and containing a fabric pen kimono and starter pack of cartridges. Nakaya pens make for lovely and very special gift items. Each pen is inspected and tested before final shipment to the customer.
