The spiraling raden Milky Way motif has become a favorite with Nakaya customers, and the new Piccolo Cigar Milky Way II, also called the Manten, augments the beauty of this design by adding a starry backdrop realized in the most finely ground abalone shell.
Each pen is hand-finished by skilled Maki-e artists in the traditional craft center of Wajima on the west coast of Japan in a process which can take six months to a year or more. We are an authorized Nakaya dealer.

The pen utilizes Nakaya's convenient cartridge-converter system - it can fill using Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges, and it can also use any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with a Platinum brand ink converter, provided by us free of charge with your order. The softwood presentation box with kanji-style script and fabric pen kimono make this pen a lovely gift item, and a starter pack of Platinum ink cartridges is also included.
