25th Anniversary Naka-ai Writer Araishu and Kuro-Roiro
Nibs.com celebrates our 25th anniversary with this new limited edition pen, produced specially for us in just twenty-five numbered pieces by Nakaya of Tokyo. Featuring an orange Araishu barrel and solid black Kuro-roiro cap and gripping section on our exclusive Nakaya model, this pen harkens back to the classic "rouge et noir" pattern of pens from the golden age of fountain pen design.
Each pen is individually hand-finished in urushi lacquer over ebonite hard rubber. Kanji calligraphy reads, "Nibs.com 25th Anniversary" along with the limited edition number. We have just a very small number of these pens still remaining, and strongly urge ordering soon if you want to be sure of acquiring one for yourself.
When Nibs.com founder and owner John Mottishaw first came to the world of fountain pens, it was as a restorer of pens from the golden age of pen design. Our 25th Anniversary pen renders homage to that era of Classic Fountain Pens (the company's original name) with the Naka-ai Writer Araishu and Kuro-roiro, which emulates this classic color pattern using natural urushi lacquer over hand-turned ebonite hard rubber.
Each pen body has been carefully hand-crafted at the Nakaya workshop in Tokyo, then sent to Wajima on the west coast of Japan for hand-finishing in natural urushi lacquer. Final nib setting and tuning for the hand of the individual user occurs at the Nibs.com workshop in Los Angeles.
The convenient cartridge-converter system allows for the use of any bottled fountain pen ink when the pen is fitted with reusable ink converter, provided by us free of charge with your order. Easy to use Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges can also be used.
Each pen ships in a special softwood presentation box which includes a fabric pen kimono and starter pack of Platinum cartridges along with the converter. We are an authorized Nakaya dealer.
