Pilot Custom Urushi Black Barrel
Being made available for the first time outside of Japan, the Pilot Custom Urushi Black Barrel features hand-finished Urushi lacquer over an ebonite body and is being produced in only very limited numbers. It is provided with a solid gold 18k Pilot #30 two-tone nib in your choice of tipping size.
The Custom Urushi qualifies for our complimentary nib tuning services, which adjust pressure and ink flow to your own personal writing characteristics. Pilot 18k nibs also serve as an excellent starting point for many of our exclusive nib customizations.
Combining classic Pilot style with a hand-applied Urushi finish, the new Custom Urushi Black Barrel is particularly notable for its gold trim and flat-top design, which provides a distinctive contrast to the Yukari Royale Black Urushi produced by Namiki, Pilot's artisanal offshoot.
The pen fills using Pilot's convenient cartridge-converter system, which allows for the use of either Pilot brand cartridges or any bottled fountain pen ink when using the provided converter. Even better, the converter in this case is Pilot's high-capacity CON-70 model, which gives this pen a capacity rivaling or surpassing that of many piston-filers.
The pen arrives in a simple but stylish presentation box which includes a starter pack of two ink cartridges as well as the complimentary converter. Pilot will be producing this pen in only very limited numbers - we strongly suggest placing a pre-order with us when it is not in stock in order to reserve the next available pen.
