Pilot Sterling Collection Mt. Fuji and Wave
Made of hand-fashioned sterling silver, Pilot Sterling Silver Collection fountain pens, formerly Namiki Sterling Silver Collection fountain pens, offer streamlined beauty at a surprisingly reasonable price. Engraved motifs accent the attractive surface of these pens, which are available with your choice of 18k solid gold rhodium-plated inlaid nib.
One of the most complex and intriguing designs in this entire series of sterling silver fountain pens, the Pilot Mount Fuji and Wave is inspired by the classic print series, "Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji."
The Japanese artist Hokusai created "Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Fuji" as a series of lanscape prints depicting Mt. Fuji during different seasons and from varying angles. Mt. Fuji is known throughout Japanese culture for its spiritual significance, and this sterling silver rendition is a take on the most famous of Hokusai's images, "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa."
The design of clouds, mountain, and wave has been painstakingly etched onto the cap and barrel of this pen. A silver oxide patina is then carefully applied to create depth and shading.
