This is a charge we make for all pens or nibs-in-sections. **If you send us the whole pen (which we strongly recommend, unless you are very experienced at resetting a split-repaired nib; the buildup of extra gold on the back, re-enforcing the split, can make it difficult to reset the nib in the feed for proper ink flow and smoothness of writing), there would be a $20 pen charge, in addition to the split repair. If you send us pens for repair, without first getting an approximate cost, we will send you our preliminary work order by email with a projected total. If you then request the pens or nibs be returned to you without work, we will have to charge you at least one Pen Charge, plus return shipping. When sending a pen please EMPTY IT FIRST. Also, if sending a contemporary pen, please DO NOT SEND THE PRESENTATION BOX it may have come in. Our storage space for such things is extremely limited. Simply wrap the pen in a sufficiency of bubble wrap, or other impact absorbing packing material and box it well. We will do the same. Thank you very much. | ||||||||||||

| It’s been pretty busy for John as of late, our queue is running more than 6 months out. We can expedite your order which turns the work around in 1-2 weeks from the time it arrives in the shop. A RUSH ORDER option is available for 100% of the cost. Note: Please let us know exactly how much insurance coverage you would like before we return your package. | Sending Information/Checklist 1. Empty and flush pens of all ink. 2. Provide clear, concise instructions. Feel free to use our Order Form. A writing sample using a pen you prefer is also very helpful to us in deciphering what you'd like. 3. If possible, please provide a business address. It is more convenient and often faster for UPS to deliver to a business address as opposed to a residence address. 4. Adequately pad and protect. We've had problems in the past with nibs flattened by postal rollers and pen-barrels broken because they weren't sufficiently padded. A small box is best (it's what we use for most of our shipping). If nibs are not sent within a box, they at least need several layers of bubble wrap. 5. Insure for the proper amount. Fully insured Priority Mail is very good and fast. Registered Mail is, of course, the safest way to ship anything. Please also let us know what you'd like it insured for when we return it. 6. We take Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express. Call if you have any questions. | ||||||||||||
