Sailor King of Pen Ivory Urushi
The King of Pen is well-known as Sailor's more than full-sized fountain pen, comparable in size to the Montblanc 149. With its eggshell color and gold trim, the Ivory Urushi is warmer than solid white and harkens back to colors popular in the 1920s.
This is a pen with a large presence. Its rounded cap ends and streamlined shape provide excellent balance in the hand, and the Sailor 21k nib is renowned for its smooth writing capabilities. The King of Pen is handcrafted from ebonite and then finished with up to twelve coats of rich Urushi ivory lacquer. Urushi lacquer has been used as a decorative material since Japan's Jomon period (2000 years ago).
Take a closer look at the rounded cap end. The gold clip allows the pen to be securely fastened to a shirt pocket.
Part of Sailor's exclusive Bespoke Collection, the King of Pen Ivory Urushi fountain pen comes standard with a 21k solid gold Medium or Broad nib. Sailor's King of Pen Ivory Urushi fountain pen comes packaged in a wooden presentation box that is lined in matching ivory satin and includes a complimentary bottle of ink, pictured above. Included is a converter for use with bottled fountain pen ink or you can use Sailor brand ink cartridges.
