Finished in the celebrated aka tamenuri technique, the Nakaya Decapod ST Writer Aka Tamenuri pairs the pen’s iconic ten-faceted silhouette with a warm, glowing red-brown lacquer that deepens beautifully over time. Each facet catches and reflects light differently, while the edges slowly reveal brighter tones as the urushi ages—creating a living surface that evolves uniquely for every writer.

As with all Nakaya creations, the pen is hand-turned from natural ebonite hard rubber and finished in layers of natural urushi lacquer by skilled artisans in Wajima, Japan. Complimentary nib tuning is included with this purchase, and optional customizations—such as Cursive Italic, Architect’s Point, or Spencerian—can also be added.
