Combining an ebonite cap and barrel with hand-applied natural urushi lacquer, the Pilot Custom 845 uses a cartridge-converter filling system - the high capacity CON-70 converter provided with the pen allows for an ink capacity that rivals that of many piston-fillers. The pen can also fill using convenient Pilot brand disposable ink cartridges.
