The Nakaya Decapod Cigar Heki-tamenuri ST fountain pen seems to break at the edges into a grassy green, lending a subtle yet striking nuance to the finish. As time progresses more of the green under-layers will peek through the brown overcoat, like grass rising from the earth in spring.

This is a shape that can be described by pure geometry except that it is subtly more complex. In the end it is the eye and the hand that this shape most satisfies. The ten sided shape has another function. Because it is not round in cross section it is not likely to roll off a desk.

Each Decapod Cigar is made of hand-turned ebonite hard rubber, then sent to the Wajima region in western Japan for finishing with urushi lacquer. As with all hand-made pens, colors will vary slightly from pen to pen - no two will ever be exactly alike.

Nakaya pens can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter, and can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges.
