Merging classic style with a modern aesthetic, Nakaya Deskpens are one of the best examples yet of this company's ability to combine elegant form with exceptional functionality. These pens make a striking statement when placed in their matching holders.

The Nakaya Deskpen in Heki-tamenuri is handcrafted from ebonite hard rubber and Urushi laquer and can be furnished with any of the standard range ofNakaya 14k nibs.

The Nakaya double slit Music nib is available at an added premium, as are plated nibs in Pink Gold, Rhodium, Ruthenium, or Two-Tone.

The Nakaya Deskpen in Heki-tamenuri revives the traditional fountain pen with the kind of emphasis on elegant simplicity that is expected from Nakaya. A striking brownish-green tamenuri finish brings out the streamlined elements of this pen as never before.

This is a long but comfortable pen. The Nakaya Deskpen is perfect for signing documents, addressing letters, or even as an everyday writer.

This Nakaya fountain pen is made of hard-rubber ebonite that is meticulously coated with urushi, a material made from the sap of a Japanese lacquer tree. The process of collecting the urushi and applying many layers of lacquer to the pen takes three months to complete. Over time, the green underlayers of the heki-tamenuri will become even more visible through the brown surface.

The barrel tapers to provide balance, and to allow for an enhanced writing experience. A flat end cap helps balance the elongated shape of the pen.
Nakaya pens can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter and can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e convertersare also available.
14k nibs are well-suited to customizations including Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique, as well as the modification for added flex.

When the Nakaya Deskpen in Heki-tamenuri is in uncapped position, it can be displayed in a matching deskpen stand, which is sold separately. Together the pair creates an elegant set that looks striking on any desk at home or work.

Decorative rice paper, a simple solid softwood shipping box decorated with Japanese Kanji script, and a fabric pen ""kimono"" are all included with this pen, making it a lovely presentation item. Sensible and elegant packaging has long been a hallmark of the Nakaya brand.

Nakaya pens are individually handcrafted in a process that requires a minimum of three to six months and often much longer.

Unless requested otherwise, each pen or nib you purchase from us will be carefully examined, tested, and optimized for your personal writing characteristics before it ships.
