Though simple in form, the Nakaya Long Cigar Midori fountain pen exudes elegance due to its rich materials, lustrous color, and streamlined shape. The Midori color evokes images of lush evergreen forests with its deep green finish, and the clipless Long Cigar model provides the perfect backdrop to showcase the hue.

The Nakaya Long Cigar Midori fountain pen is handcrafted from ebonite and Urushi lacquer. It comes with solid gold 14k single-tone nib in your choice of tipping size.
The double slit Music nib is available at an added premium, as are plated nibs in Pink Gold, Rhodium, Ruthenium, or Two-Tone.
These pens are hand turned from solid rod stock, then lacquered with multiple layers of green natural resin.

The Urushi tradition is historic and profound in Japan, where lacquer ware has adorned utilitarian objects for centuries.
This technique, though painstaking, gives this fountain pen its deep lustrous sheen and richness of color.

This is the perfect balance of green. It stands half way between blue and yellow, with the right amount of cool and the right amount of warm.

This is not a pen that you would carry in your pocket, unless you use the Nakaya single pen holder. Despite its length, this fountain pen is beautifully balanced and feels light in the fingers.
Nakaya pens can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter, and can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e converters are also available.
Nakaya 14k nibs are well-suited to customizations including Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique, as well as the modification for added flex.
Decorative rice paper, a simple solid softwood shipping box decorated with Japanese Kanji script, and a fabric pen ""kimono"" are all included with this pen, making it a lovely presentation item. Sensible and elegant packaging has long been a hallmark of the Nakaya brand.
Nakaya pens are individually handcrafted in a process that requires a minimum of three to six months and often much longer.
